Chennai 5th March DR,Comments and Selections

Thursday, March 3, 2016

Regular Racing returns to MRC {fondly known as GUINDY } after a long  time .No point in pondering over what happened in past.Let Byegones be Byegones. As they say if  someone takes one step of positivity towards you ,we must reciprocate  by taking 2 steps towards them

MRC under new committee headed by a person known for his passion for horse racing is making all right moves to re-establish Madras as prime racing centre of India. This oldest club has best infrastructure to become one.

As a Hyderabadi We are proud that our HRC is going extra way to help Madras Race Club in whichever way they need ,whether it is sending our handicapper to frame cards or vet assistance

Everything is not going to change in a day but yes everything can be changed in long run if the will to do sustains.

As a layman I would like this changes to happen

·         Transperancy --à Regular update of Website, finished timings of all runners
·         Totalizor ---- > Urgent need is to implement tote betting at par with BTC
·         Owners --- > Encourage new owners and restrict same stables entries per race
·         Honesty --- > Accept all shortcomings without any hesitation, seek remedies for such
·         Infrastructure --- > Good seating arrangement,TVS and clean toilets
·         Food --- > Let racing be a fun experience with good ambience and great food

I Sincerely wish MRC all the best in their brave endevour

Coming to races.I have done intensive research of races held this season and based on the data along with my sense of understanding have evolved a system of allotting ratings.Hope this brings good result.

Only DR given here.Comments and final selections will be updated by Friday night

 Race for local horses

Both 1&7 are running with positive shoe change and seen active in tracks but drawn in outermost boxes, but it has been noted that on MRC track horses usually travel on outerside whereas in other centres horses rush  to grab inner rails.May be the topography of the track is such that it favors outerdraw horses

Other horses who are running in positive shoe change are Wild Nexus who is speedy but no trackwork

Tahrir who runs on demotion and as such has decent chance One cool cat who may run wth pace

And strawberry dreams who failed to sustain over identical distance last time

Ghoonj from Bangalore improved a lot in last run, recent tracks are pleasing and emerges as frontline contender

Lord Darlington seems to be morning glory, was badly hanging out in both starts of the career

Star Line was fancied in higher grade race in bng, this ordinarily bred horse does not impress much

Tzar arrived late in Chennai, may be a bit rusty compared to others who came earlier to get acclimatized

Papprika who is half sister to  Turf Dancer and Torremolinos wearing colors of Champaklal Jhaveri was actually in stables of M V Narayan Rao but was shifted to this premier stables and has been prepared keeping this race in view, has reached early and there is news that it is responding well to the new environment,my money definitely on it

Exacta --- > 10/11.13/1.3.11.13/2.14.7 [18T]

CopperGlow and Aztec Star may lead local challenge but really too much for asking when pitched against battle hardened winners of other competitive centres

Market Leader from Hyd impressed massively in debut when it came like a rocket in last 100mts to beat Masti {next time winner} and in subsequent run stamped its class by authorative start to finish win,has tracked in Chennai and stands very good chance to win and will provide its enterprising owner Rakesh R Jhunjunwala his share of glory in invitation week

Quaker Ridge was a runaway winner at Mysore, was tracking well in Bangalore before leaving to Chennai, should be in strong contention

Aayan was winner of oldies group of lower class in Bangalore, arrived  late, has top weight to tackle
Afore has been consistent but rider does not impress especially in a race where fierce competition expected

Oxbridge owned by Javeed Ghatala one of the committee member of MRC after shifting to Chennai has been given easy runs and now runs with Positive shoes change ,is genuine upset contender

The Healer is unbeaten horse who is ridden by C Alford hence completely ignored

Light of Magic ran a brilliant forward in last run of Bangalore,if fails to hit front then looses out all chances

Castle Key and Captain Courage wear same silks,Castle Key is better placed in terms of distance suitability and climitization

1.Acclaimed:Distance will be sharp, runs on consecutive days, this run will be used as trial run

2.Adam: Warms up wee bit late,1400mts would have been ideal

4.Constantine:Speedy,will falter in last furlong

5.Dancing Phoenix:Surprisingly did not hit front in last race, will be surely first out of box here, can upset

6.Dancing Prances: Will start as fav, likes to come of the pace, new turf and heavy traffic will have affect

8.Galiat:Not in same league as others

10.Invincible Prince:Struggling as evident by urging trials

11.Shivalik Star:Zestful oldie,drawn well for its comfort,can surprise

12.Shivalik Storm:Has this fame of beating Be Safe in PBBM last year, speedy, cannot be ignored

14.Vijay VIdhata:Best sprinter from hyd, beaten by good horse last time, main contender

15.Sattellite:Set Alight progeny,Will not be able to come of the pace like required

16.Brahmachari:Age in favor but lacks class

17.Cosmic Touch:Returned lame in last run,lacks class

Time And Space winner of oldies group of lower class has not been prepared

Speed And Queen failed to win in lowest class, struggling in trials

Break On Thru was notable runner of lower class but not sighted in tracks

Quid Pro Quo runs with positive shoe change, has conflict of interest with Majestic Style

Majestic Style looks all set to get this race on platter

Soothsayer is ridden by champion jockey of the centre, may not go against MS

Amazing work Sir. Can you clarify would draw play a important role at Chennai eventhough they would not be any false rails.

Unknown March 4, 2016 at 12:53 PM

Outer draw is advantageous I feel as evident by earlier records
