Mumbai Ante and Post Opening Odds 20.11

An exciting Mumbai season to start from today. Less number of racing days means quality fields and high competition however Night Racing is bit of disappointment for serious punters. 

At the face of it looks like a fav card and we need to find some good bets after the opening Odds

 

Race-1: 6. Jerusalem

Tricky affair. JERUSALEM is knocking door, has finished second over this trip last season, has advantage of 0.5kgs in this Weights raised race. INAMORATA improved last time after standing flat foot in debut, will go further. PYRRUS tried front rolling at Pune, Dam was a decent router so can get this trip in a handicap debut if Tongue Strap gets the desired effect. FREEDOM is related to Stockbridge, weak saddle support does not inspire confidence.

Race-2: 3. One Wish

SKYFALL will shoot away from the word GO, ONE WISH is capable of staying close to pace where as GIANT STAR and AUGUSTUS CAESAR will be off pace. ONE WISH will zoom past tiring Skyfall, second spot may be filled in by finishing on Augustus Caesar.

Race-3: 3. Wall Street

WALL STREET ,a decent miler by breeding, ran on easy in Pune Derby, won well in debut form of which worked well with runner up beating a quality field in next run. EMRYS extended well to win well last time, can defy penalty. DRAGON LORD makes a handicap debut after a gelding operation. DJANGO failed to impress at Pune, long straight of Mahalakshmi can aid an improved performance.

Race-4: 3. Rodrigo

RODRIGO runs well after a brief rest, has speed good enough to keep everyone at a safe distance all the way. SOUP AND SANDWICH has blinding speed, runs first time here at Mahalakshmi. ARCANA clocked handsome timings last time but so did all other horses that day, not placed well in this higher class. ESPERANZA returned bleeding, this run is best watched.

Race-5: 4. Emperor Roderic

EMPEROR RODERIC won well over mile before running an easy also ran type race in Pune Derby, should be involved. KAITLAN just managed to held on, penalty and first time appearance at Mumbai. LIAM is a decent performer and despite a whip less jockey appeals for a place spot. MY PRINCESS won a targetted lower grade, tough task. FORTUNATE SON has to spend a little more energy to come from wide draw for customary style of hitting front.

Race-6: 2. Midas Touch

MIDAS TOUCH a modest bred has dropped close to last winning mark. SPECULATOR failed to deliver in 6yrs group. INTENSE BELIEF continues to find herself in traffic at crucial juncture, a clear passage can enable a place spot over this favorable trip. THE PRESIDENT runs after a long lay off.

Race-7: 3. Commandment

COMMANDMENT was repeat pattern winner, can defy class penalty. ALPINE STAR is the only C&D winner, trainer goes in dormant mode at Mumbai. SENSIBILITY could not replicate Hyd form at Pune, can take advantage of drop in handicap.

Post Opening Odds

R1) 3w@70/100 is worth laying, back 6w@8/1, Windfall if goes on expected lines

 

R2) 3@11/10 is perplexing, however I am still convinced it is a good bet if stays below 1.4

 

R3) Appears to be a Jodi race, only 2 place paying so no Place option as this two are expected to occupy paying places, I would stick to 3w if quoted at evens

 

R4) 2 is touted as classic, though I have reservations against it but not opposing instead opting for 3pl in this 2 Places paying race

 

R5) 4w@16/10 is days best betting option

 

R6) 8pl if quoted above 1.5 will be my bet in this race, may shell few bucks on win as well. 

 

R7) 2@4/1 is intriguing, I ignored it due to Jockey, horse has good form and can oblige. At race time if odds of 2 remain below 4/1 then will change my primary selection to 2 and back it for win.
