Hyderabad 21.11

First three meetings of the Winter season were cancelled due to a tussle between Trainers and HRC, former objecting to ALL ENTRIES MUST RUN clause in the prospectus. While HRC came with a detailed reasons for their action Trainers on other hand could not come up with a plausible reason for their opposition for a step which would improve quality of racing, it appeared like they instead of owners call shots  otherwise there is no explanation for lame excuses like "Stakes not increased". Punters who are at receiving end due to unethical and unfair practices adopted by trainers did not take it well. 

A good number of the horses racing today have been kept away from morning work giving an impression that Trainers were in for a long break, they had to give up only after owners instructions to enter horses for races. 

I sincerely wish HRC does not budge from its stand and coercively enforces the new rule. 

Race-1: 1.La Mirage

LA MIRAGE pitched in same C&D after losing as fav last time but at a higher handicap. NRI FANTASY will appreciate extended trip. IVANHOE was a disappointment on Monsoon track, can relish fast winter track. CLEFAIRY proved punter's nightmare, extended trip over winter track with an equipment change can induce an improved performance.

Race-2: 6.Voyager

VOYAGER is related to Mogul, looks sharp in preparatory gallops, yard is known to produce winners with first timers. BLEUE DALI from local champ Yard merits attention for Jockey booking. PROUD MARY looks good in morning gallops, watch out for market trend. SANTA BARBARA appears to be long distance horse, will need sharpening with 2-3 easy runs.

 

Race-3: 4. My Way or Highway

MY WAY OR HIGHWAY after an improved effort repeats in same C&D with a positive change in shoes. CHINA TOWN has attained competitive mark to strike in this lowest class, recent spurts in morning trials are impressive. SILVER LINING hasn't been fancied yet, absence from trials does not inspire confidence. GOOD DAY has stamina query to answer over this mile trip. 

 

Race-4: 1.Mirana

MIRANA, a winter specialist needs to be excused for last run,looks best on 19th September line, Jockey is pairing with this trainer for first time probable reason is to take off few kilos from her back.ROYAL GRACE is the only C&D winner in the set, working impressively. BEAUTY FLAME failed to get handicap reduced despite two bad runs, handicapper is smart :-). JUST INCREDIBLE is inching towards a possible gamble. 

Race-5: 4. True Icon

TRUE ICON is winner of this C&D in last but one run. MYSTERIOUS ANGEL hasn't missed the board in any of the run till now, dam was a sprinter and no offspring of Sire won a race above mile, so one needs to doubt the staying ability over this 9f. PLEROMA was cynosure of all eyes when she won effortlessly, well placed in this higher class, can easily stay this trip but a break of 90 days need to be accounted for. CAMPANIA missed a gamble by whisker last time, relishes winter track and should run prominently

Race-6: 3. Bellagio

BELLAGIO is a winter specialist, experimented with Blinkers this time. TEMPATIONS was a repeat pattern winner of lower grade of maidens, runs first time on Winter track. THE THUNDER a short priced winner will attract maximum eyeballs in betting ring. DO A DOER extended well enough to just about poke her head ahead at right time, needs hard riding and this Jockey lacks that temperament

 

Race-7: 7. Salisbury

Removal of Dexter Ring Bit brought the desired effect on MR PERFECT last time, repeats in same C&D but without much work in morning trials. CRIMSON ROSE could not perform last time for no plausible reasons. FATUMA won with this jockey, outer draw for a forward runner tempers enthusiasm. SALISBURY a winter specialist looks very sharp in trials and has leading claims. 

Race-8: 8. Advance Guard

NIGHTMARE missed Monsoon season ,may receive support but struggles in First Up { Run after a gap of 100days and more} runs. ADVANCE GUARD won over this C&D at exactly same mark in last winter season. CHUCKIT a heavy built horse drops in class, struggling since changing stables last season, may be a setback case. AERIAL COMBAT was not a jobber in last few runs, drop in handicap and better rider this time can enable a place spot.

Race-9: 2. Avancia

AVANCIA will find this lower grade easier to handle. MISS SOLITAIRE was fancied hotly in debut, looks well prepared to go all out in second run of career. NRI ULTRAPOWER showed no form whatsoever in both runs of career. ACROBAT had an excuse of saddle slipping as fav in last run {surprisingly there were many such cases of saddle slipping in Monsoon season, did Stipes notice? }, blazing the tracks in morning works.
