R1: Ame/Smart choice/Turmeric Tower
R2: Cold Pursuit/Royal Crown/Lord And Master
R3: Alfayiz/Remy Red/Chamonix
R4: Botero/Mandeville
R5: Agostino Carracci/My Treasure/Rhythm Of Nature
R6: Thunberg/King's Ransom/Balenciaga

Race-6: 10. Thunberg

Cracker of a race with many decent well bred horses making debut, Pesi babies have obvious claims but cannot rule out Golden Lioness

Hunar is first foal of speedy Dam Tolerance who was bought by Gaurav Rampal at 22lakhs
Wordsmith merits attention for the fact that two offsprings of Sire won impressively this season
Golden Lioness is full sister to Leopard Rock, has beaten horse rated 97 in final fast work
King’s Ransom is a decent bred belonging to influential owners
Thunberg is first foal of Ice Glacier who won Bangalore Oaks

Hyderabad
R1: Malibu/Silver Lining/Kancha
R2: Malaala/Pacific Command/Gurbaaz
R3: Star Babe/Cheltenham/Royal Pal
R4: Survivor/Canterbury/The Akhanda

Race-4: 8. Survivor

Canterbury with Ts ON gave a decent forward run over a mile trip, stables may prefer Everglades as the first choice

Everglades returned Lame in Rno 15, slow started in Rno 150, next run with Blks finished way behind, now better rider
Survivor’s last two runs were in a higher grade, working well and has leading claims in this favourable 7f trip
The Akhanda ran on well last time, can improve further
Carnival Lady failed as fav, will be looking to redeem that losses over extended trip
Lady Di is full sister to Timeless who was a Gr-3 winner over this distance, Sunderji has disappointed, one wonders whether he brought all Donkeys from Mumbai or made Donkeys of punters who always believed that Mumbai horses are better than local Hyderabad horses.

Conclusion: Open race with many contenders. Lady Di would have been first choice but ignoring due to stables and opting for Survivor

Bangalore 25.02

Race-1:
Lady Supremos is better than Domina on 10th Feb line, is well bred and should improve. Divyashakthi gets services of top rider with an equipment change, not placed well on weights compared to last run. Limited Edition who failed as fav in higher class stands decent chance over this favorable trip of lowest class.
Conclusion: Limited Edition to win followed by Lady Supremos

Race-2:
Striking Memory's last run can be ignored due to whip-loss and no preparatory gallop, earlier finished good 3rd over this C&D. Light Weighted mare Silverita is never shown in morning trials, was seen drifting under pressure in last run.Southern Power's positives are drop in handicap point, better rider and preparatory gallops {not seen before last run}. Flaming Orange is due for a win and race time odds trend should be watched.
ConclusionStriking Memory can pull it off this time. Southern Power should be in 1-2

Race-3:
Donna Bella runs in Class-4 first time in career, has speed and will try to run away with the race from the Word 'Go'.  Mystic Eye after a good lung opener is now placed in target C&D, looks very sharp in trials and has leading claims. Ocean Dunes who failed 7 times in this Class and Distance is better than all horses below it collectively on 11th Jan, 19th Dec, 11th Dec and 1st Nov.

ConclusionMystic Eye has strong credentials to win. Ocean Dunes is a default place contender.

Race-4:
Towering Presence ran poorly in St Ledgers and earlier failed to show out in same C&D, most probably will do well over 9-10f. Jack Ryan was impressive eye catching winner but not sighted in trials thereafter and also runs with an excess of 5.5kgs on Handicap-Weights factor. Caracas is showing out decent form this season and can do well enough to enter winners enclosure. Rest does not appeal.

ConclusionNothing much to chose from. Caracas appears to have better credentials

Race-5:
Griffin is back to his fav C&D, Jockey has won thrice with this horse and despite top handicap cannot be ruled out. Rule of Engagement is on roll but has stiff penalty to beat now. De Villiers last run need to be ignored, is blazing the track in morning trials and has leading claims. Harmonia with a drop in handicap can end up in place at decent odds. General Patton was repeat pattern impressive winner.

ConclusionCompetitive event which can go any way. De Villiers runs well in alternate races and owing to impressive workouts given first preference

Race-6:
Disruptor is a well bred speedy horse who failed to show out any strong form last time, returns from a setback of lameness but final fastwork suggests it is fully fit
Forseti after a easy debut is working well and pitched over favorable step up trip
Ravishing Form displayed impressive turn of foot in last run, has stamina query to answer over this 7f trip
Wild Emperor won well in debut albeit in a modest set
Klimt is full sister to Livisilla, working well and can raise winning gallop in debut
Place Vendome is a above average bred who will try its best over step up trip this time

Conclusion: Tough race to make a confident call however i would like to fancy Disruptor one more time as the relatively slow pace of this 7f horse may suit his style of running

Race-7:
Tactical Command's  dam was a class-1 sprinter, qualifies on Largest Concession to second horse in the entire race card and also last run earned better TR than winner but serious stamina query over this 9f trip.Aferpi a decent offspring of a Dam who retired as maiden surprised in last run by staying mile trip,  has penalty to beat over step up trip. Miurfield who is out a Derby winner Dam lost blood vessel in last run, recent workouts are suggestive and can bounce back. Love goes with low weights in promoted class after failing to carry weights in last run, Sire induces staying attributes but Dam was a sprinter hence bit sceptical

Conclusion:Muirfield if fit can hack this field.

Race-8:
Secret Superstar is not sighted in trials after a enquiry faced win last time. The Strength drops in handicap and bounce back. Benediction runs second time after long lay-off, runs in a different set of equipment from the last winning one. Millbrook had an excuse of interference in last run, not a morning regular worker hence lack of trackwork should be ignored. Rightly Noble qualifies on a Horse-Jockey developing partnership but with a penalty. Mega Success warms up late and will struggle with a whipless jockey. Red Lucifer made debut in Div-2 of lowest class, working impressively thereafter {debut in lower grade may be a ploy by connections for better odds}

Conclusion:Millbrook appeals most

Race-9:
Beldona drops in class but second run of career factor. Areca Angel has dropped a lot and can bounce back. Top News has better TR. Niche Hemp should be considered for same jockey repeating after an improved performance. Chul Bul Rani is showing out in trials but last run fell back to finish in ruts for no apparent reasons.

Conclusion:Bad race to end the day. Beldona despite second run factor appeals most

Try a win roll with bare minimum investment
Win: 1-3/3-2/5-4/8-4/9-5

TOUGH CARD

Race-1: 3. Three of a Kind
Probable contenders are Demotee Elegant Touch, Still Water, Three of a Kind {target race} and speedy Romantic Bay.
Elegant Touch due to weak saddle assistance, Still Water due to wide draw and Romantic Bay due to long lay off are ignored.

Race-2: 3. First Empress
Top 3 in card and Glorious Symphony are contenders
Embrace is speedy but not sighted in morning trials
Constant Variable from Mumbai runs over its pet distance and will be market fancy, running in a different set of equipment than its last winning one
First Empress was impressive winner, well placed and should be the one they all have to beat
William Wallace from Mumbai failed as fav over this C&D with same jockey, getting beaten in trackworks and does not appeal even for minor placings.
Glorious Symphony will be carrying overweight

Race-3: 1. Katahdin
No Whip Race
Katahdin is well placed vis-a-vis Rno71 over same C&D
Lakshnam displayed slow start tendencies in last two starts hence ignored
Prince of Windsor displayed good forward form in last run but was hanging out under pressure, a whipless rider may not be able to exercise proper control
Golden Strike a failed fav is pitched in same class with a slightly lower handicap, drawn wide and has no speed to be up with front rollers
Asian Empress has speed but changes equipment for no apparent reasons
Artic Bay improved slightly in last run, can run close this time.

Race-4: 5.Papparazi
Competitive race with as many as 6 horses in contentions
That's My Class is flashing in our follow list, Jockey change can do the trick
Magical Wish who relishes this C&D had an excuse in last run
Esteva was winner of lower grade and runs at almost handicap, tough task
Papparazi runs well with fresh legs and should be strongly involved
Lordship gets better rider this time and can surprise
Bohemian Grandeur is the only 4 yrs old in fray here, stumbled in last run
Kings Show gets its fav rider astride

Race-5: 4. Historian
Historian was an eye catching winner and tough to oppose at this favorable handicap
Bernardini has decent credentials to place at decent odds
Emelda does not impress on Handicap-Weight factor

Race-6: 12. Winter Glow
Berrettini will carry overweight and appears to best till 1200mts
Cheval Blanc is first foal of class-5 Dam, working well and stables seems to be regaining old form
Rules of Emperor ran poorly in both runs of career, most suited for this trip, eye catching trials and can improve significantly
Wonderful finished on well in debut over 6f, positive switch in saddle support over favorable extended trip
Dangerous is tracking impressively but may need a run and slightly longer trip
Star Lap after an easy debut is working well
Winter Glow is most suited for this trip, race is as good as over it she reproduces her trackwork form

Race-7: 7. Sir Baffert
Sir Baffert was slow in start last time, well rested and looks sharp in trials, runs well with fresh legs
Alexander was hanging in last run, too many runs this season
Rhiannon failed in lower division last time, needs a strong rider with whip
Lady Solitaire is speedy but drawn widest and will have to spend more energy initially to take lead
Ms Boss from Mumbai is most suited for this trip and has only Sir Baffert as threat.

Foolish act of writing directly in Blog text editor resulted in the loss of entire detailed written post. WHATEVER CAN GO WRONG, WILL SURELY GO WRONG :-(

Reproducing selections/comments from memory

Race-1: 3.Rwanda
Ginsburn defied long lay-off to win well last time, owing to front rolling tactics can falter over extended trip
Planet of Cape runs second time in career with an equipment change over new surface.
Rwanda earned better TR than winner in last run and should be strongly involved this time
Air Marshall had an excuse of interference in last run, should improve
Amber Lightning disappointed in last run

Race-2: 1. Shadow of Light
Shadow Of Love is well placed in 6yrs group this time and should run well.
Grey Twilight  gets positive switch in saddle support but drop in distance may trouble
Glorious Victory improved in last run, positive switch in shoes with same weak jockey repeating
Red Hot Jet is the only C&D winner in the set, Jky continues to get good gambled horses on compassionate grounds
Stern Maiden won a target race, does not compare well on 17th Feb line.
Demesthenes will struggle over this unfavorable trip.

Race-3: 3. Star Fling
Pinewood earned better TR than winner in last run and should be involved
Star Fling drops in class and placed well on handicap, despite modest saddle assistance appeals most
Fiat Justitia is turning out be a flat footed
Rush More won a target race and an encore looks highly unlikely
Pappa Rich has attained competitive mark and should be in 1-2

Race-4: 2. War Emblem
Master Piece won impressively albeit in lower class, is bound to be troubled in this unfavorable shorter trip
War Emblem can stay this mile trip, recent trackwork suggest it has been prepared for this mile race
Right Move has been struggling this season with frequent change of equipments
Come Calling improved well in last time and should be in 1-2
Royal Treasure with a change of equipment improved in last run, step up trip does not suit
Nagada is proving costly to follow, runs with multiple change of equipment this time

Race-5: 1. Ganton
Ganton is the C&D winner and has leading claims
Soul Mate has short burst and does not appeal here
Sweet Fragrance earned better TR than winner in Rno69, ran on easy in next run to shed an all important handicap point, stands good chance to be in 1-2
Sonic Dash returned lame in Rno16 and then slowly off in next run, this type of horses cannot be trusted

Race-6:5. Single Malt
Rubert appears to be a good type best suited for 7-8f, working well and wide draw may aid its late finishing traits
Single Malt met one better in last two runs, has leading claims
Remediesofspring is retained by breeder, showing out in trials and should run well

Race-7: 8.Succession
Succession was impressive eye catching winner last time and on that line is better than Horses 4,5,6,10,12
Torbet relishes this C&D and Jockey, has good chance to end up in place.
Rays of Sun failed as fav in 5yrs+ group at same mark.
Beejay ideally is best suited for 1200mts and Jockey needs to utilize its best in last 100mts to be in contention
Uncle Sam won well twice but only a good horse can maintain winning streak in class-3

Race-8: 1. Spirit of Zion
Spirit of Zion drops to target class and should be strongly involved.
Wild Passion twice failed as fav in this lowest class
Icy River had an excuse in last run which was first appearance in this lowest class, can improve to be in place money

Try a Roll with bare minimum Investment
Win: 1-3/2-1/3-3/7-8
Place: 1-4/2-5/3-7/4-5/5-5/7-2

 A dull insipid card

Race-1: 1.By The Book

By The Book: Drops to lowest class after an improved performance in the last run

War Trail: Handicap debut in the lowest grade, does not impress
Sodashi: Light Weight filly who will be market fancy for obvious reasons, nothing strongly in favor
Commandpost: Has issues of slow starts, has failed twice in this Class-5 Div-2 race
Lightning Flame : Poor formline, T-J is winner less in 22 pairings
Jan Zizka: Distance behind in all runs which includes a lowest class race as well
Stunning Beauty: Failed in a Div-3 race
Ultimate Power: Losing form rapidly and probably should retire
Capital Gain: Failed as a fav in Div-3 race, T-J is 0/0/0/11!!
Je Ne Sais Quoi: Runs after 11 months, different set of equipment than last winning one
Fierce Fighter: Has some form to its credit unlike others in fray here

Conclusion: Top 3 in card have some credentials while rest looks just also ran type. By The Brook can get better of market fancy Sodashi

*******************************************

Race-2: 8. Mitsuro

The Inheritor: Facing enquiry for last run, is not well placed on handicap

Belvedere: Bred for sprint, wide draw will hamper his chances of hitting front
Twilight Fame: Improved unexpectedly to land a place gamble at huge odds, has penalty to beat now
Clever Hans: Failed fav with an excuse of interference, has best TR for this trip, T-J is 0/5/1/15
Extraordinary: Will shed handicap to target class-5 later
Rule Of Law: Nothing noteworthy till now
Chiraag: Ridden by ordinary apprentice who could secure only just one shp spot in 20 runs
Mitsuro: Ignore last run due to no track work, CNB On and should run a bold race this time
Perfect Hell : Returned bleeding last time
The King N I: Both runs backward, ignore till it at least beats half of the field once
Capri Girl: Excuse in last run, is best placed on weights in this set
Planetary Joy: Debut in a No Whip Race, second run in hands of a No Whip Jockey

Conclusion: Mitsuro appeals most. Capri Girl should be in 1-2.

*******************************************

Race-3: 6. Mystic Mountain

Almanach: Back to winning class but at a much higher handicap

Lycurgu : Reject of Irfan Ghatala stables and has been struggling
Aferpi: Improved in last run in 6yrs group of lowest class, cannot stay this mile trip
Electric Blue: failed fav of same C&D, has best TR and with Blinkers on this time merits another chance
Tyto Alba: Dropping rapidly but note in 5yrs group in March
Mystic Mountain: decent bred who will relish this mile trip, leading claims in this Handicap class
Infinite Grace: Poor formline
My Vision: Lethargic horse who failed as fav in lowest class

Conclusion: Mystic Mountain and Electric Blue are the shortlisted one, former should expose true form here. Electric Blue is default contender.

*******************************************

Race-4: 6. Philosophy

Ashwa Magadheera: Half brother to Cuban Pete, working well

Banksy: Dam produced decent 6f horses, change of jockey is perplexing
Eternal Princess: Aged dam, most probably an educational run here
Lucky Sun: Dam was a decent 6-7f performer in GB, getting beaten in trackwork
Luminary Star: First offspring of a Dam who was an average performer at hyd, choice of jky suggest this is also ran race
Philosophy: First foal of Manifold, debut run was eye catching
Queen Spirit: Dam was 1000G winner at Bangalore, working well
Sheer Bliss: First foal of an above average performer, also ran type here

Conclusion: Philosophy despite sharper trip appeals most. Queen Spirit may not fetch much for place.

*******************************************

Race-5: 5.Golden Wings

The Response: Drops to target class with a change of equipment but Jockey!!!

Thousand Words: Speedy, can stage pillar to post victory in this lower class
Osiris: Dropped below last winning mark, may target a 5yrs group in March
Unique Style: Earned better TR than winner in last run but does not appeal with this Jockey
Golden Wings: I fancied him in debut, it won at massive odds 2 runs later, despite crushing penalty appeals
Benediction: Runs after 11 months without any track work
Morganite: Drop in handicap but still does not appeal in this set
Aztec Queen : After good lung opener entrusted to top saddle artist, earlier was distance winner of this C&D albeit lower grade
Lauterbrunnen: Modest bred who finished on second last time as others were not interested
Defining Power: Ran without preparation last time, now regular morning trials and equipment changes
Shubankar: Average bred making debut in hands of a work jockey

Conclusion: Pace of this race will be hot due to presence of 5 front rollers, picking a clear winner is tough but Iam more inclined towards last start winner Golden Wings

*******************************************

 Race-6: 4.Measure of Time

Aircraft: Suggestive 4th in debut and now drops in class, keep an eye on race time odds trend

Fun And Laughter: Last run with same jockey was uninspiring, not sighted in trials thereafter
Star Domination: Failed in lower grade of this class at same mark, tough task
Measure Of Time: Drops to lowest class and has leading claims
Dawn Rising: Poor form till now, tested with Blinkers this time under a top rider
Flower Of Paradise: Average bred making debut in hands of a work jockey
Sky Princess: Runs after a gap of 11 months, light weight filly in second run of her career, best watched
Flaming Orange: Is due for a win but T-J is 0/0/0/21 Altair: best till 1200mts only
Activated: Weak formline

Conclusion: Measure of Time will be hot fav but does not impress on class factor still prime contender due to poor  field

Chennai 17.02

Race-1: 1.MasterPiece

Masterpiece drops in class and appeals most in this set of modest opponents

Race-2: 5.Amber Lightning

Rwanda the only Class and Distance {C&D} winner in the set will relish drop in trip. Ready Player One gets positive switch in shoes but lacks initial speed required for this sprint race. Ginsburn from Mumbai runs after a long lay off with a change of equipment. Amber Lightning makes handicap debut after brief rest, has speed to blow the field from the word Go. Conscious Keeper can hold on to 3rd place owing to its speed and good numbers.

Race-3: 3. Prince of Windsor

Glorious Legend gets positive switch in shoes but may find distance bit sharp. Choir the only C&D winner in the set is facing field of younger horses. Prince of Windsor has best numbers and should do well now. Fashions of Stars makes handicap debut with a change of equipment and runs after a gap of 5 months, is speedy and stays in contention if body weight hasn’t changed much. Heidmer from Mumbai after a good forward run in last race will be market fancy, cannot understand the need to change equipment. Angel Light the other one from stables of Adhiraj Singh has failed as fav in both runs, is well placed on weights and can improve significantly over step up trip.

Race-4: 2. Judy Blue Eyes

That’s My Class has decent numbers but facing younger horses. Judy Blue Eyes lost as hot fav in the last run ,earlier won impressively over this C&D. Race For Stars despite a slow start and long lay-off factor won well. Excellent Phoenix despite advance age appeals for place berth on relative handicapping terms. Lady Royal is facing an inquiry for last run. Annexed ran easy in Oaks, earlier won a lower grade race, not better than Race for Stars on 18th August and 15th April line.

Race-5: 4. Star Romance

Star Romance is clearly street ahead of Single Malt on 7th Jan line and may run at cramped odds. Single Malt improved in second run where it earned TR better than winner and should be strongly involved in finish. There should be a potential class-2 horse among the debutants to beat this duo.

Race-6: 1. King T’challa

NO WHIP RACE

King T’Challa earned better TR than winner in the last run. Rippling Water is speedy but does not appeal at this handicap. Thomas Hardy is well placed on handicap and goes over an ideal trip. Glenary has speed but has to overcome widest draw. Super Girl was a repeat pattern winner. Anasthasia remains unbeaten, is better than most of the runners here on 27th Jan line, anyways it has to meet her Waterloo  and that could be this race since opposition is tough.

Race-7: 4. Zucardi

Once You Go Black: Easy winner in debut, step up trip suits
Arabian Queen: Winner of Godolphin Barb Million at Hyd, paid late fees to participate in this race
Priceless Beauty: Sped away to glorious victory in debut run ,same tactics will see her falter in last furlong
Zucardi: Scrapped thru to pull a narrow victory despite hanging under pressure, step up trip suits
Kay Star: Failed fav in the last run, belongs to weak connections
Rubirosa: Stablemate of Once You Go Black, modest bred and may find this set tough to handle
Chinky Pinky: From Bangalore, working impressively, Jockey who failed to get a winner for this trainer in 15 pairrings is getting good mounts on compassionate ground.
Shez R Star:  Frequently changing equipment, will carry overweight.

Conclusion: Quite a few contenders here, I will opt for Zucardi for win

Race-8: 5. Despacito

Despacito will relish drop in the trip and should run well. Lady Solitaire is speedy and can end up in place at decent odds. Star Ranking does not appeal due to weak numbers

Try a roll with bare minimum investment

Win: 2-5/4-2/5-4
Place: 2-1/3-7/4-6/6-6/7-7
