Chinese are the biggest gamblers on this planet. Chinese Governments ensured that money stays in their country {Macau, Hong Kong} instead of flowing out to foreign companies. Indians are gamblers too like the Chinese and our country is losing Billions of dollars in betting with overseas companies. A few years back a Commission recommended the legalization of sports betting but Gov chickened out fearing adverse electoral impacts. If there is a will there can be ways. The lower-income bracket can be kept out of betting thru Aadhar cards/Pan cards. HOPE keeps a person alive and happy even in adverse conditions and that's the reason why even developed countries like the US continue with Lotteries and other similar schemes. A safe, transparent, and honest system of betting would be beneficial to the Government and Public in many ways

HRC is accepting bets on international races but high tax rates haven't allowed it to become popular with punters. We can only hope for sanity to prevail
