Bangalore 28.06
Bangalore 27.06 already posted
Good card for form followers
Race-1: Calix (2)
1.Auspicious Queen: Ran 3rd on debut over 1100m. More of a middle-distance type, likely to improve over 1400–1600m.
2.Calix: Failed favorite on debut over this distance after travelling well early but fading late. Pure sprinter by pedigree, and recent trials suggest he deserves another chance.
3.Panache: Gets a better rideR after insipid runs, not a pure sprinter and likely to stay on stronger later, momentum building trackwork confirms this
4.Abbakka: Heavy stamina oriented, debut over sprint is an experience gaining exercise
5.Charming Prospect: A light weighted filly that could be effective over 1400-1600 later in handicap class
6.Haniel: Interesting blend of speed and stamina. Ran a good 4th over this trip last start; 1200m is manageable, though 1400m may suit better later.
7.Preview: Moderate rather than explosive speed. Looks the type to improve with experience, and despite top jockey assistance, is hard to fancy on debut.
8.Sai Princess: Sprint leaning pedigree but still learning to jump in trials, blinkers in initial stage of career is a big red flag in my book
9.Time Tester: Slight speed influence but more of a grinder, should gain few races experience
Conclusion: This sprint race for 3yrsm horses favors Sprint leaning pedigree and ideal preparation, both points towards Calix followed by Haniel
Race-2: Sea Diamond (2)
1. Detective Conan: In this lowest class may expose true potential of intermediate speed profile suitable for 1400mts extending up to borderline 1600mts
2. Sea Diamond: All three wins of the career came over this Class and distance, finished closely in last two starts in the same
4. Magna Carta: A well-bred filly that rallied on well from the rear to finish a good 4th, same type of tactics with a whip-less Jockey may not be fruitful
5. Superhero: Has won twice and finished runner-up over this C&D in three starts, Jockey has a stats of 1/1/0/5 for this stables, intent is visible, last few poor runs can be ignored, will pay well for place
6. Michiko: A reject case with a poor turn of foot
7. Bruce Almighty: Has dropped lot below last winning mark, well past prime
Conclusion: A mile race of lowest class, top-2 in card and Superhero have better credentials
Race-3: Dream Walkin' (2)
1.Queendom: Peak performance came over this C&D in penultimate run, looks tough at this handicap
2. Dream Walkin': Owing to impressive spurts in morning trials was fancied in debut run, fell back from a prominent position, a better Jockey after a run experience can trigger Second Run bounce
3. Super Charm: First foal of Grade-3 winner Dam, apprentice with his poor judgement has messed chances of quite a few good rides, don't know why he still gets good horses
5. Steely Challenge: A modest bred who managed to finish second in lower grade in debut, laced with serious medical conditions in latest vet reports
6. Lightning Blitz: An ordinary bred that failed as fav in lower grade last time with the same jockey, a blow out work recently signals an all out effort over extended trip
7. Lots of Luck: Reappears after 11months, recently gelded but has been prepared in a text book pattern
8.Tiger Bay: Failed as hot fav last time, stretching out well but clearly needs more ground
Conclusion: In this Class-4 race over 1400mts no horse seems to have a significant positive advantage.
Race-4: Knotty Charmer(1)
1. Knotty Charmer: Recorded a rare Dynamic Rating of 702 in his last run, a notable figure by Bangalore standards. TR compares favorably with Stud Poker, and he could spring a surprise if he controls the race from gate to post.
2. Crown Drive: Despite being a non-winner outside Chennai, was heavily backed at Mysore last start but failed as expected. Has prepared well for this, though a significant rise in class is needed to trouble the strong local and Mumbai contenders.
3. Dream Seller: Mumbai challenger tuned to peak fitness, highlighted by an impressive mock race win and strong extended work. Holds solid time-form ratings at the parent center and shapes as a leading contender if adapting well to this track on debut here.
4. Kalamitsi: performed well in last two runs but this terms race will be a different preposition
5. Reiko: Final entry for this Cup race. Ex-jockey turned trainer S John has been entrusted with quality horses and has already justified that faith with a win and a near miss on day one. Eager to prove his mettle, that momentum could help bridge Reiko’s rating gap with the top contenders.
Conclusion: This main event of the day has attracted small but quality field, winner need not be the best handicapped but the one who got the best race run. I am respecting Dynamic Rating earned by Knotty Charmer.
Race-5: Vegatha (3)
2. Mahler: Returns to home center after participating in regional classics at Kolkotta and Mysore, runs well with fresh legs and should run a good race
3. Vegatha: Won in debut last summer, proceeded to Mumbai where it won 3 handicap races and a decent run in 1000G, an ideal 1400mts profile, travels strongly all the way and stays in contention
4. Irish Coffee: Has won twice over this C&D, if jobber odds would be less than 8/1
5. Gachchhatu: Winner of all 4 races on common canter at Hyderabad, has no real speed and depends heavily on last finishing, Bangalore Summer rewards horses with tactical speed and hence a real test of class in this tough conditions
7. Lux Aeterna: Most probably eyeing a demotion
Conclusion: A tri-way contest between 2,3 and 5 is expected for this class-2 1400mts race.
Race-6: River Deep (6)
3: Noble Cause: Yet to win in Bangalore, seems to have lost competitive edge after suffering a setback
4. Il Volo: Surprisingly was spiritedly backed in last run and almost obliged, lacks tactical speed needed for this No-Whip Race
5. Carat Love: Our Days best in last run where it was shaping like a winner but appeared like Jockey eased off at crucial stage and lost in close finish, has advantage of speed here and can recoup that loss
6. River Deep: Returned fitter after a gelding operation and won a lower grade of this class last time, sharply penalized but has tactical speed to be in contention again
8. Chotipari: We fancied for an upset last time, Blinkers and drop in handicap can aid a reversal
9. Glorious Sceptre: Has short burst of speed, runs with a change of equipment
Conclusion: This is a No-Whip sprint race, late grinders can be ignored, front rollers will have upper hand. River Deep is open to further improvement hence the first preference over Carat Love. Chotipari is a live danger
Race-7: Pledge (1)
1. Pledge: Steep penalty had its toll last time, repeats at same mark with A grade Jockey gives an impression trainer thinks last run was not a true run
2. Luca: Returned bleeding in last run at Mumbai, mile is not his forte, stables have put a better Jockey on 5
3. Imperador: A well-bred gelding that will be carrying additional 1kg this time for finishing second over C&D in last run
4. Shahenshah: Drop in handicap can ensure a place berth
5. Regal Aristocracy: Returns after a gap of 540 days, was in process of good preparation but for some reasons trainer has put him away from active morning exercise
7.Absolute Thunder: Momentum building works after a good 4th over 1400mts last run, should be in contention
8. Art of Romance: An unsound horse
Conclusion: Nothing much to chose from in this mile race of class-4
DAYS BEST: 1-2 Calix
Next Best: 6-6 River Deep
Place Hopefuls: 1-6 / 2-2 / 3-2 / 6-5 / 7-7
