Hyderbad Derby selections

Hi all,

D day of Monsoon season.It has been raining for past few days and conditions do not look good as of now{7pm).

Following are my views for derby day races.

Race1:Above the line(4)-Win

One can safely ignore Sound of nature,Lady escort due to lack of preparation and -ve selection of jockeys.Nano war is lethargic and will find it extremely difficult to make an impact here.Final choice is narrowed down to Carte blanche,Above the line and Proud accolade.Above the line is endowed with good initial speed,has performed exceptionally well winning thrice,but can it hold on till over 7 furlongs will be the main question.Since it is derby day which means No false rails and the prevailing conditions due to continous rain,i feel front runners will have very good chance to win,hence iam opting for Above the line to hold on from Carteblance who won impressively in its last outing and will fight it out.Proud accolade will fill in third slot.

Race2:Hussler(9)-Win

Ignore last run of Hussler in colts trials stakes,has very good chance at this handicap.Chiquelle ran below par in its last outing,will strongly challenge Hussler.Mayfairgirl does not impress here and at best can only hope to place.Golden celebrity can sneak in place if any of the above falters at all important end.Vijaysfamme does not impress and looks outclassed in this set.

Race3:Man on fire(9)-Eachway

Upset is in store.My first pick is Man on fire who will be different customer in this set and can upset if there is will.Stroke of luck is running after long lay off,has benifit of mock race,will extend its best here.Classicone was good winner in lower class,will again try for another win,but may only place.Ivory snow is the one which has ran below par in higher class,looks place certainity.Jugnu had his share of winners,will run easy here.

Race4:Cool spice(6)-Eachway

Tightly handicapped race with almost 5 runners expected to fight it out.Cool spice,Spectacular falcon,Millenuimqueen,Dancing harbour and Accordion comes in contention in that order.Cool spice emerges as good long shot bet.Spectacular falcon has advantage due to No false rails and will place for sure.Millenuimqueen has good chance to win provided there is will.Dancing harbour is now running with +ve change of shoes and will extend its best here.

Race5:Flying Phoenix(3)-Win

Again a tough race.Iam opting for Flying Phoenix who has is now running with +ve change of shoes and jockey,will put his heart and soul to earn a win.Avemaria is the one which comes on top in contention and is shade better than Auburn star.Scamper will have to beat the above duo.Something is brewing in Break Point,can sneak in place at longer odds.

Race6:Spot on(9)-Win

Who will beat Spot on,can easily win by atleast 2 lengths.Elpaso and spruce springstein will fight for minor placings.Something is brewing in Boldblast,can place at longer odds.


Race7:True Force(11)-Eachway

Call me crazy but iam prefering a aged horse against talented youngsters.My way of handicapping has True force on top and is worth each way.If there is lack of will on true force then Lone ranger has clear advantage over its rival.Artistic emperor is long shot place bet.Music valley with blks cannot be ignored atleast for JP.Scubario does not impress over this distance.

Race8:Leonardo(6)-Win

(1)Al Fatha:This horse has been hiding true form for too long,has enough potential to beat this field,good long shot bet.
(2 ) Cambiasso:Non winner till date,failed to win even in 20-45 class,y it is running here is puzzle.
(3)Davenport:Good horse but will not be able to make any impression here.
(4)Fair Option:Front line contender of MAM camp,except for a win 20-45 did nothing to merit attention,looks difficult.
(5)Fleet Indian:Had feel of local track in Colts trial stakes,has been prepared very well for this event,but the million dollar question is can it stay this distance.
(6)Leonardo:Non winner till date,surprised everyone by his amazing turn of foot in Colts trial stakes at bangalore and in subsquent run finished off board,has been prepared very well,will fight it out,has good chance to upset.
(7 )Menlo Park:No chance
(8)Ramasses:Well bred but has no chance whatsover in this set.
(9)Red Dragon:May not sustain this distance,looks to be underprepared.
(10)Red Renegade:Winner of colts stake,will be fancied but looks difficult to me as in last race it adopted tactics of surprise which worked to its advantage over mile,has tough job in this set.
(11)Sparks:Was fluent winner over identical distance,can place at longer odds.
(12)Vendetta:Not here
(13)Amazing Ray:Could not even beat Spot on in its last run,has no chance.
(14)Kohinoor Delight:Has no chance

Finally my choice is Leonardo closely followed by Fleet indian.Alfatha can upset.

Race9:Firebird(8)-Win

Firebird looks home and dry in this set and can easily win by atleast 5 lengths.King Of Habashe will place for sure.Dash Of Class will place at longer odds.

Double:Firebird(9-8)
