VAAL

The Vaal Racecourse is situated in the heart of the Vaal Triangle. As such, it is mere minutes away from Vanderbijlpark and Vereeniging, with Johannesburg relatively close by as well. 

The racecourse is renowned for its friendly, country atmosphere and for having the longest straight in South Africa. At 1600m, it puts both jockey and horse to the test. 

The turf track is about 2900m in circumference, with races up to 1600m run on the straight course. Races further than 1600m are run clockwise around the turn.
