Indian horse racing Future

Friday, October 13, 2017

Its over 100 days now since the implementation of 28% GST on Horse racing in India .Slowly but surely effects are starting to show . Totalizer pool is fast losing it's popularity  owing to poor dividends ,worst hit is place pool which hardly pays anything for investment on first 3 favs.Small punters who like to invest on totes are deserting OTCs and falling in traps of illegal bookies who have mushroomed in large numbers off lately . Bookies are not here for charity ,they want to make maximum profits , absence of competition from Tote has further aided their business ,punters have no other options but  to accept lesser than deserved odds .

Disturbances at BTC has set a gloom in punting community , with no signs of early solution to problems at BTC looks like we are heading for a dull Winter season

Will GST on Horse racing be reduced ? Answer probably is no simply because persons expected to do so have failed to put a strong case before *His Excellency* finance Minister of our Country .As much as we may dislike late MAM but things would have been totally different had he been alive

Future of Horse racing looks bleak, not that punters were making millions by punting but still there was this "hope" which kept them floating thru troubled times
