Paid Tipsters

Interesting debate going on in comments section of first blog Horses and Races over Paid tipsters.

For past few months we have witnessed mushrooming of paid tipsters who put advertisement in race books, blogs and boast abt their success to lure prospective clients. They charge for their tips. And what kind of tips they give--Place for horse whose win odds are 3/1..It is really funny how they claim that horse tipped by them fetched 3/1 for shp..do they mean to say they tipped that horse exclusively for shp? Most of the punters are tempted to checkout once for the simple reason that amount asked is very less ..sometimes as less as 1000 for 15 days..Thinking  that 2k or 4k is nothing in compare to what they bet they end up paying. It is human nature to bet big on info and credible tips. This is where this so called tipsters succeed and end up making decent money..Imagine even if 10 person agree to shell out 4k for month they pocket cool 40k without any investment on infrastructure or anything else...All their claims for paying money for getting info from stables is bogus and totally baseless.99.9% punters are in red struggling to keep their financial positions at respectable and manageable stage and any attempt to flee them promising sure shot winners is nothing short of a unpardonable crime. This kind of money will not do any good for them or their families..

Iam not against all kinds of paid services..Some sites like Racingpulse and Equine India charge for their services and in lieu of that they provide all required info on racing be it detailed race card, odds or post race analysis...They work hard to compile all the data and present the completely updated racecards with data of Horse, its performance, trackworks, winning history, distance and classwise winning history, trainer, jockey statistics, commentary of previous runs...Thus providing their clients a service which is worth every penny..Mind you they also give selections and they are really good.

There is one site DRF...i subscribed to it and wanted to be their paid member to get DRF charts ,,i know it takes lots of effort to compile and present that and i was ready to pay for that services,,i even sent them mail asking for charges,,surprisingly they removed my name from their members list and did not even reply to my mails...what we heard from them  later that they are charging 5k for month in lieu of sure shot tips and that too on sharing basis!!! I know persons beyond Beyersspeedratings and DRF  and sincerely hope they succeed in their endevaour ..Will be really happy if punters are benifitted by their hardworks.

Some tips to avoid falling in trap of con tipsters

1)Dont agree to pay money upright..Work out some kind of plan like weekly or monthly basis where payment is made according to success of tips and for every failed tips debit two successful tips..For example if they give say 20 tips for month and 15 pass,5 fail ..pay money accordingly that is for 15-(5*2)= 5 tips...One can predetermine charge of every tip  before entering into agreement.

2)Ask them to provide their real address and bank details...most of them provide bank details of their relatives of other cities

3)Strongly question them for failed tips..On what basis he tipped it and what was the reason for its failure...if they say they got wrong info or something like that be assured you are dealing with a conman whose sole intention is to flee you.

4)Look for tipsters who are selling packages like guaranteed return of 100% returns.. suggesting a pattern of bets which would ensure minimum guaranteed returns.

RWITC new chairman is sincerely trying to reduce the tax and interlinking all the totes..if that happens then Internet betting of races on lines of share trading is not far way...Dividends will be attractive..

If that happens we may witness new crop of tipsters emerging who may offer various services like tipping, betting and ,managing funds. Some may even try to pool up money from different persons and pay dividends after deducting their commission accordingly.

if paid tipsters are Experts with 50 % success , what prevents them from betting with own funds.

why are they very keen on sharing .

honestly paid tipsters are bogey for conning common punters.

you have seen dalal in bol book , he says 20 years experience. common man , 20 years still begging money. Surely he could have reaped millions from his own tips.

subscribers to paid tips punters should realise Paid tipsters are no better than Free tipsters.

one guys says computerised rating , another manual rating.

mushrooming of internet lead to so called experts , olden times no computer no tipsters.

people who hide and mask their identity are cheats.

they dont give name and telephone number.

if these so called con tipsters really have good tips why they dont invest themselves and make money instead of demanding 1000 every 15 days.punters should understand that good study and luck factor is sufficient to make money not these money demanding tipsters who are i think miserable failure in their gambling career.

Dear Vincero, First of all I appreciate your article on this subject and secondly disagree with your latter half of your article. Why should anyone pay for tips is my only question to you. Why. They have been many comments on Horsesandraces on paid tipsters and one particlular site was targetted namely indiaracetips. Have you by any chance visited this site, seen what they are offering and what is promised. The same site eidtor used the most detagotary language against the blogger which was really uncalled for. These type of sites are encouraged and people are falling for these traps. Please give your comments.

Mr.Vinod, paid tipsters should realise that they are just like you, Shyam, me or any other punter. They have no special powers to say they can give sure shot winners, promise 60 percent returns and what not. Unfortunately people who have no knowledge are getting into this trap and are getting screwed.

DRF Arun is a farce. Apart from charging 5 k he also lures customers to pay for him minimum 5 k bet on his choice. If the horses looses the punters cry. If it wins or places the amount needs to be sent to him.

You asking us to ask for address. They say if we publish address drunken punters come to ask for tips. IYou say ask bank details they say payment gateway not functioning depsoit in personal account. Noting transparent. First of all will any bank open a current account if they say our business is tipping horses. No way man. Then how DRF claims to have current account.

Anonymous,  February 7, 2013 at 2:41 PM

DRF was another name a year back. Then that closed and now it is DRF. Now this will close and another will open.

How can anyone forget the great Prem. Only single selection is his motto. The same man is seen at Bangalore Race Course, just like an ordinary punter, collected money from others to play his bets. Unfortunately no one knows him, his paid members think that he is a genius.

Anonymous,  February 7, 2013 at 4:04 PM

I have only one question to the people who actually pay these people. Do you never read blogs, Horsetalk or even the newspapers. Do they not give such good reviews, analysis, tips for free. Why you want to pay anyone for tips.

Anonymous,  February 7, 2013 at 4:24 PM

What credentials to the paid tipsters have. If Prakash Gosavi charges for tips understandable. If A Prem, Arun, Indiaracetips want to offer services can they tell us how much experience they have.

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:05 PM

true Any person who is offering tips for money is conman in disguise

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:08 PM

yes initially a person enters racing with money and no knowledge,,then he looses money and becomes Tipster...Ironically even i fall in this category!!

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:12 PM

No i have never visited Indiaracetips.com..Yes iam aware of filthy language being used by some person against respectable blogger and that makes me even more averse to the idea of visiting that site.

Coming to your query of me supporting Paid tipster let me be very clear that i dont support any kind of paid tipping...i was referring to Money management services and my comments were in that context. This concept is very famous in other countries but here in India in absence of strong laws and effective penal system we cannot expect that kind of services in near future.

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:14 PM

Yes ,,at best we can shortlist the best horses ..but pinpointing the eventual winner is not humanly possible

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:16 PM

Atleast this site is offering one week of free tips..Latter could not find the page:-(

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:18 PM

Heard abt this or ur own experience?

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:23 PM

There is a saying that "People who listen should be more intelligent than People who say" .Ppl around us will say lot of things but the person listening to them should be intelligent enough to see truth in it

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:24 PM

No idea abt it as i was not involved in racing for 2 yrs

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:26 PM

Well if his members are happy with him then what can we say ..its entirely in their personal domain...Anonymity is boon for some ppl.

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:28 PM

They succumb to the lure giving it a try once thinking that at worst they lose 2k-5k

Vincero February 7, 2013 at 6:29 PM

Prakash Gosavi,Shyam,Tiger,Srikanth know that asking money for their advice is not morally right

Tiger February 8, 2013 at 2:49 AM

Very interesting debate

Unknown February 8, 2013 at 11:31 AM

Hey let me ask all the important question, who is the best free blogger, I nominate Mr Vincero (VV) to be the best for Hyderabad, I do know that paid tipsters are crap because if they were really that good that they can help others make money, they can play on their tips and make millions so the concept of paid tips is 'technically flawed' and just a scam -- Mr T
