****Update**** Monday,7pm---->Its raining for last 1 hour or so.Sunday  witnessed late evening and night rains not torrential downpour types but still heavy enough to cause concerns

A very competitive card has been framed for Derby Day.There will be many surprises.Ideally if Main event is one sided affair it is not included in jackpot pool but this time Derby race is included in JP pool,is it a sign that Derby after all is not as one sided as it appears.Punters have not forgotten what happened with "Equine Lover" the eternal certainity in Mysore 2000 guineas.It is difficult to analyse graded races for many reasons.Many horses are being prepared for this event and all its earlier runs were mere just runs type.

.All the stables want to bask in glory on this Day.Even non performing stables go all out to attract new owners and wanna be owners who throng race club on Derby Day.Winning a race is the best way of promoting their stables on this day.

Top 4 as my system of handicapping are given in "Green "color" and one final selection is given in "blue" color

Race1:Ashwa Shakti(4)-Win

Very very interesting race.

Golden Palace is highest rated in this terms race but this horse has done well only in handicap races and not in terms race plus top weight will only add to its woes.

Ashwa Shakti  is 3 year old and after winning easily last time is tracking extremely well,has best credentials to win this race

Star Saloni is running for first time in terms race,impressive winner in last run,mighty impressive mockrace thereafter,at this weight will be the horse to be beaten,should be in 1-2

Kuchipudi has strong credentials to place at longer odds.

Golden Rule is one of those horses who have only cleared maidens yet reached to top category by running along side stronger horses,can be ignored here as stables might prefer Golden Palace.

Al sarah is finding this weight tough to carry as evident by its last run.

Strides of Glory is sluggish,cannot make any impact here in this set.

Race2:Ring Of Fire(7)-Win

(7)Ring Of Fire (3)Always Bullish (4) Nano Pride (1) Westminister

Ring Of Fire won well last time,tracking very well after that and inspite of overweight that it is bound to carry due to body weight of jockey it still has best credentials to win this race.

Always Bullish has tendency of running in front and if the pace of race is slow then it has no chance.

Nano Pride can try to stage pillar to post victory,place is certain.

Westminister won in relatively easy set,will run easy here.

Dazzling Princess swooped upon tiring runners in last run,will be very difficult here.

Race3:Great Warrior(8)-Win

(10) Vijays Winner  (8)Great Warrior (4) Lake King (11) Killer Instinct 

This can be tricky race.

Vijays Winner is running first time after being gelded,did not impress in gate practises either,even though facing a very poor set here ,the uncertainity factor regarding its race fitness is there.

After riding Great Warrior in race no 63,Jockey P A Culhane recommended use of Blks and longer distance..Presto!!!!! it won very very impressively with jockey looking back in final furlong  in next outing over 1800mts..should capitilise on that form and return as winner.

Lake King won in very poor set,repeat of same is not possible,can be ignored even for place

Killer Instinct ran very good forward race last time when "Blks" were added,now has good chance to upset on this no false rails day.

Speed To Succeed is unable to carry top weight,can be ignored.

Azaiba after changing stables from Anupam Sharma to Abbas has been struggling,now ridden by better rider with better preparation,can upset,place is certain.

Race4:True Scholar(6)-Win

Jackpot 1st leg.Big field with many contenders.

True Scholar won well last time,now runs in +ve switch of shoes should be the horse to be beaten.

Prince Of Arabia is showing burst of speed,with extra 200mts and better rider this horse has good chance now to win.

Crimson Look shot up like a rocket and won in style in its last outing,very well rested and prepared well,cannot be ignored,should place.

Win Joy is working well with blks,has tendency of running in front,will not be able to make any impact in this set.

Fighting Fit won drawing away in a race which witnessed heavy downpour just before start,no chance of repeating the same feat now.

Our Mascot does not impress here.

Race5:Snow Bird(5)-Win

Yet another very very tricky race.An upset cannot be ruled out

Snow Bird has ran along classy horses ,last run ran unextended in strong company,working very well and should be the one to be beaten.

Its my opinion  Narayan Rao's horse will not be in contention when L D Silva's horses are on job.Molecule in its last run opened as hot fav at 50/100 and within no time odds went upto 2/1,no wonder it lost to Garabaldi{trained by L D Silva},now that there are no chances of conflict of interest here it will be fully tried,has tough job on hand.

Elegant Approach has won impressively on opening day,last run inspite of uninterested saddle assistence finished notable 4th,with ace jockey astride now will try to run away with this race.

Confidential with +ve switch of shoes and good trackwork merits attention,place is certain.

Win And Joy ran in last race to loose,Jockey did all kind of acts like throwing whip,not showing light till final 50mts,it is noted that Venkat is used for notorious acts like winning on longer odds or loosing on favs by Deshmukh stables,now that it is ridden by P S Chauhan one gets the feeling it will be on job,has very tough job to do.

Race6:Guiding Light(1)-Win

Yet another very tough race to pinpoint a clear winner.

Genuis Empress ran with classic horses,can place at huge odds in this set.

Days Of Thunder has good initial speed but will not be able to sustain till end.

Guiding Light is hiding true form,can easily beat this set if intended to do so.

Proof must have benifitted by its last run after long lay off,will be in contention.

Arrow in Auto Mode may find this distance bit sharp.

Race7:Borsalino-Win

 Even when i was fully involved in betting i would never bet in classic races.They are boring and absolutely annoying to handicap.

Borsalino with run benifit and world class rider will be hard to beat.

Machivellanism may not even place this time.

San Ramon can finish second.


Race8:Palace Affairs-Win

(10) Palace Affairs (5) Star Experience (4) Winning Strides (13) Aneres

Flowers Of Music,Palace Affairs and Royal Sword are the horses from Follow list which are running in this race.

Flowers Of Music is carrying weight which exceeds the upper limit set as per its Mother Chart,hence can be ignored.

Palace Affairs is on downside,tracking well and can handle this set.

Royal Sword's ideal distance is 1100,can be ignored here.

From the rest

Victorious sally likes to run in front and on this day of No false rails will run a good race,should place,upset cannot be ruled out.

Aneres is working well with blks and sporting the same for race,its earlier run suggests it likes free running,now drawn in outer box in large field consisting of many front runners it has very tough job on hand.

Star Experience impressed in first race of season where it finished easy third to Drum Beat ,subsequent runs were unextended due to interferences and slow starts,is hiding true form and can surprise here.

Zulu Punch returned lame in its last run,can be ignored.

Sun Bird has impressed in mockrace but it will not be able to carry this weight over this distance,can be ignored.

Winning strides is working well,can do well in lower class.
