Defeat of Set Alight

Hi,
A wave of gloom descenced on Hyderabad race course when Set alight could not win.Hundreds of punters flocked HRC to have glimpse of majestic filly and witness her fine gallop.There was huge applause moment she entered Paddocks.Entire racing faternity cheered her.She disappointed all.The real culprit in her defeat is Reflection of gold which sharply cut across in straight forcing Set alight to stop for a moment and by the time she regained her galloping form Ice breaker had stolen a commanding lead.
Set alight did not look picture perfect in Paddocks.She was restless and definetely amused by large number of eyes gazing her.Her Beto'noir, Antonios Stamped his supremacy by winning in Pune and she proved that she is no more a queen filly.It will take lot of efforts from Pesi&co to resurrect her completely tarnished image.
In other news it looks like finally HRC has given nod for use of mobiles.Grapevine is that from 1st of next month mobiles will be allowed inside with fee.It is known fact that certain bookies were dead against allowing mobiles within premises of HRC.One cannot stop an idea whose time has come.
Old stables are giving way to new multi floored stables.There is some talk of relaxation of rules for participation of outstation horses and from next season onwards many trainers from other centres will permanently station their wards here.Jaggi Dhariwal is the one who is believed to be bringing his wards along with many bangalore based trainers.Good times ahead for race lovers of hyderabad.

SET ALIGHT should turn the tables and take the revenge on ICE BREAKER when these two fillies fight on with each other in the PRESIDENT OF INDIA GOLD CUP main event to be held in the coming days.
Yes as u mentioned Good times are ahead for race lovers of hyderabad.

I would say it was more of Alford riding the horse was not proper, anyways it was sad to see Set Alight lost. But this run should definetly help in Invitation Cup. And I believe your question of one horse race including in Jackpot is also answered :)

Lets be realistic,Set alight is spent force,whatever may the reason for her defeat may it be Fast pace or bad riding,one cannot deny the fact the champions are the one which can defy all this.
To me Set alight will never be able to perform well over mile,forget Invitation cup.

Set alight ran hell of racing in its career. Filly has lot of potential like ABOLINE, the only thing is that needs lot of rest & some good preparation for the next event i.e PRESIDENT OF INDIA GOLD CUP. It should come back like a bullet.

Vinod, May be your right. The reason why I mentioned that was, I could see Shroff just hanging on the rails near the paddock and he was badly upset and desperately waiting for Alford to return. But what you say makes sense, it did not extended in the last 200 metres. that talks about the lost form.

It was mere co-incidence that I and one of the old time jockey known to me were just walking along side Pesi Shroff (actually Pesi was looking for his cab driver in the Owners/Trainers Car parking) after the races in the evening, I asked the jockey (in a louder voice) what happened to SA, then Pesi looked at us and said he (C Alford) broke the horse to the jockey. Then I asked our old time jockey, he says forget about this run, he will avenge its defeat in all other races in future, as there is No dearth of training by Pesi & Co.
It was evident by seeing the races live. I felt bad looking at Pesi (depressed face).
